    I was born in Georgia. Educated at UGA and spent 7 years in the restaurant business before chasing my dream to live in the beautiful mountains of Western Carolina. So off to Murphy me and my family came in 1998. Real Estate was just a natural for me. To be able to show off these beautiful mountains on a daily basis is a blessing, to get paid for doing it.........well that is just icing on the cake!

    Although the natural beauty of this area is consuming and captivating, the friendliness with which you are treated by the local folks make you just want to stay. Visiting the mountains on vacation is common for many people. More people are buying land as an investment, a retirement place, a cabin to rent, or simply a home to enjoy. With real estate being one of the safest investments my job is too easy.

    Randy Dockery is a native of the Murphy area. His family roots go back to the 1840’s when James Dockery moved to the area. Living and working here his entire life has given Randy the opportunity to see almost every inch of Cherokee County. He loves his mountain home territory and as he puts it, “If I didn’t already live in Murphy, I would surely have to move here! I have seen a lot of change from the time Murphy had only one traffic light and no four-lane roads, but it is still the greatest place to live.”

    Randy and his wife, Vickie, have two daughters and four grandchildren. You can find Randy relaxing and fishing on the week-ends on Nantahala Lake, but during the week, you can find him in Murphy helping people find their mountain dreams with his 19 years of experience.
